Busy Wednesday!

This morning, Jackson and I decided to forgo our usual Wednesday Planet Child outing to take advantage of today's 78 degree temperature. We tried out a new playground with our friends Suzanne and Scott, Kids Together Park in Cary. Jackson and I had an absolutely wonderful workout... I mean, time. :) I say "workout" because Jackson kept me running pretty much the entire time we were there! He had a fantastic time exploring. I took a few photos, but the majority of them are of the back of his head as he lapped me time and time again. Despite all the running, we did have a breakthrough this morning. He held my hand and walked beside me for a good 10 minutes, both on the way to and from the car. This has never happened before for a prolonged period, so hopefully it's a sign of good things to come!

Typical action shot- Scott chasing Jackson (by the way- Jackson's seconds from impact with the lady in front of him)

Down the slide- Jackson's spotted a very cool dump truck and he's kind of stalking it :)

Pondering...

This evening, I went over to the hospital to visit my good friend Elizabeth and her husband, David who had their second beautiful son, Carter, on Monday! He weighed in at a healthy 8 lbs, 8 ozs, despite arriving 3 weeks early. I think Elizabeth was really happy to see me, but almost just as happy to see the Ben and Jerry's sundae I brought her. ;) The best gifts I got while in the hospital after Jackson were the yummy Starbucks iced lattes Mom and Shel brought in for me!

I held a sleeping Carter the entire time I was there, and time totally slipped away as we talked and talked, and looked at pictures and videos of both their boys on the brand new, snazzy flat screen TV in Elizabeth's room (they've remodeled the Rex Birth Center since I was there with Jackson!). It was kind of surreal to hold a tiny baby like Carter, as I'm now used to toting (when allowed :)) a 34 lb toddler. Visiting Carter got me very excited about what will be in store for our own family in another 3 months or so. I'm so looking forward to adding a sweet infant to our family, and having the opportunity to watch Eric and Jackson interact with her.

Carter and Me (please kindly overlook the tired-out, makeup-free look on me :)).
