Isn't there a children's book by that name? In case I've got it wrong, The Awful, Horrible, No-Good, Terrible Day definitely could have been the title of a book describing our day yesterday! Jackson had been sick with the stomach bug since Thursday, but yesterday morning, it finally caught up to Mom and Dad. Eric woke up and started in with getting sick right away. He stayed in bed while I was up with Jackson, who got sick again. No rest for the weary in this house (Jackson, Mom, and the washing machine)! We just watched TV and cuddled on the couch (I think Jackson's watched more TV in the past three days than he has in his entire lifetime). Thank goodness for Noggin and UNC-TV.
When it was *finally* naptime, we all took advantage, and had a three-hour nap. As soon as naptime was over, it was time for Mom to start in with getting sick. Mind over matter couldn't stave off the queasiness I'd been feeling since Thursday forever! Luckily, Dad felt better, so perfect timing (I guess you could call it that). He was feeling well enough to go to the store and get some sick supplies like Gatorade and popsicles. I pretty much was out of commission for the rest of the day and night, and Eric was on Jackson duty on his own. Did I mention that Eric's a fabulous husband and father who took really great care of us yesterday when we really needed it?
I'm happy to report that we all woke up this morning feeling great! Jackson's appetite still isn't back, but that's normal for him after a stomach bug. Many thanks to the family and friends who offered their help yesterday (though I'm glad things weren't so bad that we had to take you up on it)!
P.S. I hope no one was eating while reading this. Kind of a gross update all around. :)
