This weekend...

...we've got big, ambitious plans! We're finally getting started on painting the kiddo rooms! Well, Eric will get started on painting. I get a pass this time. Plus, someone's got to be on Jackson duty. Jackson's certainly got a lot of talents, but painting a bedroom is not one of them! ;). We're hoping to do a transportation theme for Jackson's room (my dream "big boy" room for him looks a little like this)- and we're thinking of a medium blue. For the nursery, we've got a bit more ambitious plans, which involve 2 colors of pink and green accents (like this). That's also the bedding we've chosen for the nursery, and I just loved what they had done to the walls in that picture! We're still on the hunt for Jackson's exact bedding and furniture, but we know we can at least get started with the painting now. Fortunately for Eric, the rooms are small.

It's been a long week, which unfortunately included the loss of Eric's Great-Uncle Guy last Easter Sunday. Jackson and I stayed home, while Eric went on to Charlotte with his parents and brother for the funeral Wednesday. I wish that we were all able to attend, but we just ultimately decided that making the trip to Charlotte and back, as well as attending the service, wouldn't be the best choice for Jackson, and for everyone else attending. From the times that I was around him, it was evident to me that he was a very sweet man. He had a lot of people who loved and cared about him, and had recently celebrated his 90th birthday!

I'm 30 weeks pregnant as of tomorrow. 10 weeks to go to the due date- 70 more days. 75% done. There's really a limited amount of time now to get things accomplished, thanks to weekend obligations. I'm thinking the little bit of relaxing on the weekends that we actually get to do now has really come to an end for our little family for the foreseeable future. And by the foreseeable future, I mean for the next 5 or so years (very best case scenario). :)

As for the pregnancy, all is well- normal weight gain, normal blood pressure, normal measurements. Very uneventful- and that's a great thing! We're going to the OB every 2 weeks now, and will start going every week at week 36. We're not taking any classes this time, or doing a hospital tour. About all we'll be doing to prepare this time is going through some books on natural childbirth. I hope to have a different birth experience than I had with Jackson. Induction was very hard and intense, and my recovery (thanks pretty much wholly to the epidural, vacuum use on a big baby, lots of stitches, and trying to do too much too fast once back at home) was difficult. I hope to have a different and better experience this time around, where things can take a natural course. Everyone who has been through childbirth both ways tells me that natural births are typically followed by a much easier recovery, so that would be great! I'm starting to get nervous, but I feel that I can do this.
