Jackson was so happy to have not just Mom accompany him to Little Gym today, but Mom AND Dad! Eric took some time off this morning to come with us (and chase Jackson!). Jackson has really grown to love his Little Gym class, and gets into it more and more every week. He even did a flip (assisted by Eric) around the bar today. He used to just resist trying any of the bar "tricks". He's putting his hands down for somersaults on his own, and using the balance beam. He loves all the props (hula hoops, balls, bells, bubbles, etc. etc.), applauding his classmates, and checking out all the babies in their infant carriers (a few of the kids in the class have infant siblings who "watch"). He's got a huge smile on his face the entire time, and I love it! Of course, he still loves to run wild with the other boys in the class. Fortunately, there were no major collisions today (there's usually one big one per class, at times requiring ice for one or more of the injured parties). If you ever want to see prime examples of the HUGE differences in attention span, energy level, compliance, personality, and toughness in boys and girls at this age, look no further than a Little Gym class! I think this grandma who had taken her shy and quiet granddaughter to our class instead of their regular class was a tad shell shocked by the raw energy of that group of boys. :)
Eric had a blast watching Jackson in his class, and participating with him today. I'm considering enrolling him again for the fall (and possibly summer), but we've got a very busy schedule already booked- so we'll have to play it by ear. We'll be back there tomorrow for a birthday party, so Jackson should get his fill of Little Gym this week!
In other (kid) news, I had my 34 week OB appointment today. She's measuring just a bit bigger than normal, but still pretty much right at 34 weeks. She's definitely running out of room in there! My Dr. said that she doesn't seem too big right now, but they'll see next time (in 2 weeks) if I need another ultrasound to check her size. My Dr. said she sincerely doubts I'll be having a 6 lb. baby. :) Everything else was great- I'm very healthy, she's very healthy! For my next visit, I'll start going every week until the birth, and things actually start happening at these visits beyond the routine tests. Exciting!
