10 more days (give or take). We're ready! I'm pretty uncomfortable and large, and having a very difficult time sleeping. We think it would be great to have a Father's Day baby (the 21st). I'm going in for my week 39 appointment on Friday. I'll have my membranes stripped this time, which did nothing the both times I had it done with Jackson, but you never know! The Drs. are telling me that with a second baby, things should move more quickly and easily. Eric is still working on the nursery. He put up her beautiful curtains while I was out at Bunco last night. Fabulous!
Today, Jackson and I went to the Museum of Life and Science in Durham with some friends. We had a blast, and I figured the hours of walking would only help me. :) We started out inside due to the pouring down rain this morning. Highlights were watching the guys dancing like wild men in the indoor tornado, checking out the animals (alligators, owls, snakes), and the indoor play area for kids 6 yrs and under. Jackson also greatly enjoyed an activity that was not sanctioned by mom (or the museum)- running into the bathroom and maniacally flushing the toilet. Luckily, he only did that once. No floods. :) After Jackson insisting (despite the rain) on checking out the donkey who was taking shelter in the barn, we headed to lunch. A very expensive museum lunch, I might add! Sheesh. Luckily, Jackson ate every bite! He was rewarded with his current favorite treat, a popsicle. He's also getting in at least 2 of his 2 year molars right now, so a popsicle definitely hit the spot in more ways than one for him. We moved on to the very cool butterfly house, the totally gross but fascinating insectarium, then took a lap around the outdoor loop checking out the bears, lemurs, and boats. Jackson was extremely impressed with the maintenance trucks that look like souped-up golf carts, and the construction vehicles. We saw a few of those, because they're creating a new outdoor dinosaur trail, set to open later this year. I know that trail will be a big hit with Jackson and his guy friends. :) After 3.5 hours of museum time and walking...stick a fork in me, because I was done! We skipped the train and other outdoor activities, but there's always a next time.
